Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 30, 2026
Shultz Solutions LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates EngrAssist Tools (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the App, and describes your rights under applicable privacy laws worldwide.
1. Information We Collect
EngrAssist Tools works without an account, and the calculators run entirely on your device. The only information that leaves your device is what is needed to run an optional account and your subscription.
Stored locally on your device only:
- Tool usage history (which calculators you have opened recently)
- App preferences (selected theme, pinned tools)
- Calculator inputs and results you enter during a session
- Device features some tools use on-device only, never transmitted to us: the camera (flashlight, QR/barcode scanning), foreground location (approximate access provides coordinates; optional precise access enables elevation when altitude is available), and motion sensors (level, inclinometer, compass)
Device permissions and choices:
- We request a permission only after you intentionally choose the feature that needs it. Camera, location, and motion data are processed on-device and are not sent to EngrAssist.
- If you decline or revoke access, only the dependent feature portion is locked. Unrelated tools, your account, and subscription benefits continue to work.
- You can try again from that feature at any time. Depending on your prior choice, the App will show the system prompt or an Open Settings option.
Collected only if you create an account (optional):
- Your email address and/or your Apple or Google sign-in identifier, used to sign you in and to sync your Pro subscription across your devices and the website. Sign in with Apple can hide your real email behind Apple’s private relay — we only receive that relay address.
- Your subscription status, tied to your account so your purchase unlocks Pro everywhere you sign in.
Information we do NOT collect:
- Account information unless you choose to create an account
- Device identifiers (IDFA, GAID, etc.)
- Crash reports or analytics telemetry
- Advertising or cross-app tracking data — we do not track you
Feedback you choose to send:
- If you send feedback, your message, email address, and any screenshot you attach are sent through your email provider to our support inbox. We use them only to respond, investigate issues, and improve EngrAssist.
2. How We Use Your Information
On-device information personalises your experience — for example, remembering your theme and recently used tools. If you create an account, your email or sign-in identifier and subscription status are used only to sign you in and to keep your Pro access in sync across your devices and the website. We never use any of it for advertising or tracking.
3. Third-Party Services
We use a small number of service providers to run the optional account and subscription features. They process data only to provide those features to you:
- Supabase — authentication and the account database (stores your email / sign-in identifier and subscription status).
- RevenueCat and the Apple App Store / Google Play — process and validate your subscription purchases.
- Apple and Google — only if you choose Sign in with Apple or Google, to authenticate you.
- Cloudflare — serves app content and control-plane responses; ordinary network requests may include an IP address and technical request data. Cloudflare’s privacy practices are described at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
We do not integrate any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or social media trackers.
4. Data Retention
On-device data is retained until you uninstall the App or clear its storage. If you create an account, we retain your account data until you delete your account (see “Your Privacy Rights” below), after which it is permanently removed from our systems. Support correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to resolve the request, maintain security and business records, or meet legal obligations; you may ask us to delete it.
5. International Data Transfers
On-device data is never transferred. If you create an account, your account data is processed by our providers (see Third-Party Services), which may store or process it on servers in the United States and other countries. Where required, these transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as the providers’ standard contractual clauses.
6. Your Privacy Rights
All Users
You can clear all locally stored data at any time by clearing the App’s cache or storage in your device’s Settings → Apps → EngrAssist Tools.
If you created an account, you can permanently delete it and its data from inside the App at any time: Settings → Account → Delete Account. You can also email EngrAssist@gmail.com and we will delete it for you. Deleting your account does not cancel an active App Store or Google Play subscription — cancel that in your store account.
EU / EEA Residents (GDPR)
For on-device personalisation we rely on legitimate interest; for the optional account and subscription we process your account data to perform our contract with you (providing the account and Pro access). You retain rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, and portability of any personal data we hold, and you can erase your account data at any time as described above. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. To contact us about your rights, email EngrAssist@gmail.com.
UK Residents (UK GDPR / DPA 2018)
The same rights described above apply to UK residents. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information. To exercise your rights, email EngrAssist@gmail.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Brazil Residents (LGPD)
Under Brazil’s Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, you have the right to confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymisation, blocking or deletion, information about sharing, and portability. To exercise these rights or submit a complaint, contact us at EngrAssist@gmail.com.
India Residents (DPDP Act 2023)
Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the right to access information about processing, the right to correction and erasure, and the right to grievance redressal. Our grievance officer can be reached at EngrAssist@gmail.com.
7. Children’s Privacy
EngrAssist Tools is a professional engineering reference tool and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
8. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data stored within the App. In the event of a data breach affecting your rights, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities within the timeframes required by applicable law (e.g., 72 hours under GDPR). To report a security concern, contact EngrAssist@gmail.com.
9. Changes to This Policy
We update this Privacy Policy only when our practices, services, or legal obligations change; we do not send recurring notices when nothing changed. Every revision updates the date and version history. Material changes that expand collection, use, sharing, retention, or device access receive a clear in-app notice before taking effect when appropriate. If a new purpose legally requires consent, the affected processing and feature remain off until you make a separate affirmative choice. Silence, dismissing a notice, continued use, or acceptance of an earlier version is not consent to a new purpose. Minor formatting, typo, clarification, contact-detail, or privacy-improving changes do not interrupt you.
10. Version History
- August 30, 2026: Added this accessible version history. No collection, use, sharing, retention, or device-access practice changed.
- August 27, 2026: Added contextual permission and denial/retry disclosures; clarified approximate and optional precise foreground location; documented feedback, support retention, Cloudflare request data, and change-notice and consent safeguards.
- August 16, 2026: Initial published policy covering local tool data, optional accounts and subscriptions, service providers, retention, privacy rights, and security.
